Hey dictator!

About

This blog is for the “Watch Me Confess!” project (Also see our Facebook group) dedicated to an effort to show the Iranian government how ridiculous they are when forcing people to confess to lies on national TV. You can read about it herehere, & here for example. We are inviting them to watch the rest of us confess too. Just sit behind your webcam and take a few minutes to confess anything you like. Alternatively, just write your confessions in text. You can either be silly and confess to the sort of things that the Iranian government is forcing people to confess to under torture (such as: You are a CIA agent and was funded by the UK to start a velvet revolution in Iran by using the BBC and CNN,  Twiiter, Facebook, and Google Translate, etc.) or you can be serious and tell them what you really think.

Here’s a sample confession:

Here’s another sample confession made in Farsi by a famous Iranian comedian (Ebrahim Nabavi):

With the English transcript here.

As you can see, it’s possible to have a lot of fun with this, depending on how creative you can be 🙂 Alternatively, you can post something serious and express your emotions towards the tyrants who force other people to lie on TV, torture and kill innocent people, limit people’s access to information, steal their votes, etc. If you don’t want to make a video, you can just submit your confessions in text.

By doing this you are helping the Iranian struggle for democracy by making the Iranian state’s propaganda less effective in the eyes of the world. Note that many Iranians wont be able to do this themselves for fear of endangering themselves and their families. But everyone else in the world can help.

After recording your videos post them on YouTube, share them on this blog with us, tweet them on Twitter (use #IranElection in your tweets), share them on Facebook, email them to friends, but also email them to the Iranian state controlled media:
